How my journey to an online business started and how I ended up with this

Hi there! My name is Dawid. You have read about my love for all things building here. Why I am a home lover that enjoys to tinker, and add, and change things constantly in and around my home to make it nice for me and the family to live there, but also to continuosly increase my homes value.

On this page I want to tell you a little bit more about why I started to develop this website and why you can do it too, if you want to.

This is me, Dawid

You have read how I became an engineer many moons ago. But what I haven't yet told you, is the rest of the story.

I never really wanted to do a "normal" 9 to 5 job, but I thought of it as a starting point until "something better" comes along.

I always wanted to be self-employed….. it was my dream since childhood. To be an architect, design homes, and have a wonderful time being creative, but as we all know, life happens….. Soon I was in a relationship, married with kids and with all the responsibilities that goes with that.

My dream fell by the wayside…. And thus it started…. Life passing me by while I paid the bills.

To make a long story short….. I woke up one day and realised that I am in my forties..... and that I needed to look hard at where I am in my life and where I want to go.

Between commuting to work, household duties, raising my daughters, and caring for the animals, there wasn't much time or energy left to do anything else.

My marriage was also coming to a dramatic end, and I realised I had to make some changes; so I did, and I set myself a new goal…..

I wanted to find something to do that will excite me again…..

• Something that will help to pay the bills, (we all know how expensive it is to give our kids a good education these days)
• Something that will eventually allow me free time every day to do what I want to do, and it
• Had to be something that I love…..

So the search started.....

I didn't have money to buy or start a conventional business, so I needed to find another way. I have learned a few things during the years "life happened" to me and I knew that if I look hard enough and if I persist, I WILL find something.

I know that the prizes in life are at the end of the journey and not near the beginning. Life is NOT about instant gratification, and one has to work towards that which you desire.....

Imagine the fulfillment and satisfaction when you eventually reach your goals!

I also know that it is not up to me to know how many steps are necessary in order to reach my goals!

So I take one step; If that is of no avail, I take another and yet another. One step at a time is not to difficult when you really think about it.

Over the years I have spent many hours upgrading and improving the homes we lived in. I loved the challenge to find a DIY project and do all the planning, research and project management to complete a job well done, as deep down in my subconscious, I still had that passion for architecture, so I was all the time searching with that in mind……

And then one day, after many months on the internet, searching for the opportunity I knew must be out there somewhere, I found the solution…..

I stumbled onto something I knew was that IT I have been looking for...... I found SBI.

This is my fifth year since I started Home Lover Ideas. I sometimes couldn't work on the site for months on end because of “life happening”, but I never gave up.

So it is possible to do it at YOUR OWN PACE. It is important to never compare yourself with others. Do it in your spare time.

Persist for as long as it takes because it is worth it!

Today, mid 2016, I have over 150 unique visitors per day. The snowball effect has begun. The momentum is picking up every day, and I know that by the end of 2014 my online business, powered by SiteSell, will provide me with an additional income.

The income that will make my life easier and it will make my dreams come true!
